Overview

The HTS/Direct Support Professional role at Home of Hope involves providing support and training to individuals with diverse needs, focusing on their daily living skills, personal hygiene, and vocational training. This position is designed to empower individuals toward achieving independence and participation in community activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living skills and personal hygiene
  • Provide vocational training and support integration into work environments
  • Facilitate meal planning, medication management, and health maintenance
  • Encourage self-determination and inclusion in community activities
  • Document progress and maintain individual task analyses
  • Report incidents and safety concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Transport individuals to various appointments and activities
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the environment

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • First Aid/CPR training
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals weighing 50-70 pounds
  • Good communication and teaching skills
