Overview

The HTS/Direct Support Professional at Home of Hope provides training and assistance to individuals with diverse support needs, focusing on daily living skills, personal hygiene, and vocational abilities. This role is vital in promoting independence, well-being, and inclusion within the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Train and assist clients in personal hygiene, meal preparation, and daily living skills.
  • Coordinate vocational skills instruction and support integration into work environments.
  • Document progress and maintain records for assessments and billing.
  • Encourage independence and promote self-esteem among clients.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, families, and service providers.
  • Report any incidents affecting client health or safety.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients.
  • Provide transportation for clients to appointments and activities.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • First Aid/CPR Training
  • Valid OK driver's license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50-70 pounds
  • Good communication skills and ability to teach
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules
  • Understanding of oral and written instructions
