HR SpecialistLocation: White Plains, NYCompensation: $60-65K Position Summary The HR Specialist provides support across a variety of human resources functions and serves as a key partner to employees and managers. This role assists with talent acquisition, onboarding, employee support, benefits, compliance, HR systems, and special projects while helping ensure efficient and compliant HR operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with recruiting activities for hourly and non-exempt positions, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and supporting the hiring process through offer stage. Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the organization. Maintain employee records, HR system data, and personnel documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, timekeeping, and employment-related matters. Support employee relations efforts by documenting concerns, conducting follow-up activities, and partnering with HR leadership when needed. Help administer timekeeping processes, audit employee records, and assist with resolving discrepancies. Support HR compliance initiatives, including I-9 verification, training documentation, policy acknowledgments, and audit requests. Assist with benefits administration, employee communications, enrollment changes, and vendor coordination. Generate reports and maintain workforce data to support HR operations and business needs. Contribute to employee engagement programs, training initiatives, policy updates, and continuous process improvements. Handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of HR experience, ideally supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, or payroll/timekeeping functions. Understanding of employment laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements. Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, payroll, or workforce management systems preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is a plus.
