Job Description

Overview

The HR Specialist at Harbor Community Clinic will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day human resources operations with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining personnel records. The position requires a commitment to the organization's mission of providing quality healthcare and supportive services to the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters; conduct reference checks and initiate background screenings.
  • Manage the onboarding process ensuring completion of pre-employment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready personnel files; conduct audits for compliance.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions such as hires and terminations.
  • Support benefits administration and assist with leave of absence administration.
  • Manage HR-related documentation including claims and requests.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience, particularly in recruitment and HR administration.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in a community clinic or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
