Overview

The HR Specialist role at CFS in Jersey City offers an opportunity to grow within a mission-driven organization focused on community impact. The position provides hands-on experience in various HR functions such as onboarding, compliance, and benefits, within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Run and complete employee background checks from start to finish
  • Enter and maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and Excel trackers
  • Prepare, print, and file onboarding and compliance documentation
  • Support high volume hiring and orientation cycles
  • Assist with benefits inquiries and serve as a backup for HR call center needs
  • Support ad hoc HR projects and system improvements as needed

Required skills

  • At least 1 year of hands on HR experience
  • Experience with data entry and HR systems
  • Basic Excel experience for tracking HR data
  • Comfort handling sensitive employee issues with professionalism
