Overview

The HR Specialist 2 at Daniel Defense plays a crucial role in supporting the employee lifecycle by managing new hire processes, conducting drug screenings, and maintaining HR data. This position emphasizes integrity and accuracy and requires strong administrative skills, a detail-oriented approach, and a commitment to high standards of safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete new hire paperwork and pre-employment requirements.
  • Administer drug screening and background check programs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in ADP, including audits for compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute HR communications and job descriptions.
  • Conduct initial phone screens for candidates and coordinate interviews.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with HR projects and special assignments.

Required skills

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR support or administrative roles.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or comparable HRIS.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Familiarity with I-9 compliance and E-Verify process is preferred.
