Overview

Commercial Express HVAC LLC is seeking a detail-oriented HR & Office Administrator in Sterling, VA, to support employee onboarding, payroll administration, compliance activities, and day-to-day HR operations. This role is integral to creating a positive experience for employees while managing multiple priorities in a growing organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Support daily HR operations and employee lifecycle activities
  • Assist with new hire onboarding processes
  • Conduct new hire orientations and follow-up meetings
  • Process background checks and security clearance documentation
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions
  • Review, audit, and correct employee timesheets
  • Manage office supplies and inventory
  • Coordinate employee uniforms and company resources
  • Assist with employee events and special projects

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience in HR, payroll, or office administration
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, and background screening requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
