Job Description

Overview

The Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is seeking an HR Manager to oversee various human resource processes and ensure smooth operations within the organization. This role will involve supporting program departments, facilitating recruitment efforts, managing employee training, and updating policies to align with regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate recruitment efforts between hiring managers and the HR team
  • Onboard new hires and offboard exiting employees
  • Monitor I-9 forms, background checks, and employment verifications
  • Ensure employee files are up to date
  • Oversee overall employee training
  • Review employee timesheets through the HRIS system, Paylocity
  • Draft and maintain policies as needed
  • Manage benefit portals for health and life insurance
  • Provide demographic information for grant applications and audits
  • Update and draft employee job descriptions
  • Answer employee questions and concerns
  • Assist managers with personnel issues
  • Research and propose HR process improvements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of human resource management experience
  • Experience with HRIS, specifically Paylocity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately
  • Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
