Job Description

Overview

Capital Waste Services LLC is seeking an HR Generalist focused on compliance with DOT regulations and management of driver qualifications. This role supports various HR operations including benefits administration, employee onboarding, and training within a safety-sensitive work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and audit Driver Qualification (DQ) files in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations
  • Track and manage driver credentials including CDL status, medical cards, MVRs, prior employment verifications, and annual reviews
  • Coordinate DOT drug & alcohol testing for employees
  • Support compliance with company Drug & Alcohol and Safety policies
  • Coordinate onboarding for DOT-regulated and non-DOT employees
  • Assist with group benefits administration and serve as a point of contact for employee benefits questions
  • Utilize Paylocity for employee records and HR administration
  • Collaborate with operations, safety teams, and managers to resolve HR and compliance matters

Required skills

  • 2+ years of HR experience with DOT compliance
  • Experience maintaining Driver Qualification (DQ) files
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMC regulations related to drivers
  • Experience supporting benefits administration and group insurance
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, particularly Paylocity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment
