Job Description

Overview

The HR Coordinator at Ace Hardware in Visalia, California will assist in recruitment efforts, coordinate new hire orientation, manage HR files, and support payroll functions. This role is essential for maintaining compliance and promoting a safe work environment while contributing to the company's commitment to values such as teamwork and integrity.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment efforts including intake meetings and phone screens
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and prepare new hire packages
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of all HR files
  • Assist in preparing and auditing weekly payroll and incentives
  • Conduct Workday data entry for new hires, terminations, and promotions
  • Manage time and attendance policy for all employees
  • Provide reporting on labor hours and time off
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in human resources and/or payroll
  • Knowledge of payroll and employment law
  • Expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet
  • Experience in Workday preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Interest in recruitment and human resources practices
