At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). This role plays a key part in ensuring competitive, equitable, and data-driven pay practices aligned with business objectives. This position is designed for a high-potential individual seeking to grow into broader ownership of compensation programs and contribute to the evolution of Total Rewards.Primary AccountabilitiesCompensationConduct market pricing using survey data (e.g., McLagan, Mercer, Pearl Meyer) and internal benchmarking using cloud-based MarketPay softwareSupport job evaluations, leveling, and job architecture maintenanceAssist in development and maintenance of salary structures and pay rangesSupport end-to-end annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, promotions), including data preparation, validation, and analysisReview and analyze compensation data to identify trends, risks, and opportunitiesPartner with HR and leadership to support compensation decisions and recommendationsEquity & Deferred CompensationSupport administration of equity programs (RSAs, stock options, ESPP), including tracking grants and vesting schedulesAssist with non-qualified deferred compensation (NQDC) plans, including eligibility tracking and reportingCoordinate with Finance, Legal, and external vendors on equity and deferred compensation processesMaintain accurate records and documentation for equity and deferred compensation programsSupport alignment of compensation elements with 401(k) plan definitionsAssist in analysis of bonus and incentive pay impacts on retirement contributionsPartner with Benefits and Payroll to ensure accurate data flowOther Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport compliance activities including audits, reporting, and documentationAssist with process improvements and automation opportunitiesParticipate in HR and cross-functional projects and initiativesPartner with HRIS on system and reporting needsSupport Payroll for bonus and incentive processingPartner with Benefits on retirement plan alignmentCollaborate with HR and business leaders to support compensation initiativesHandles sensitive and comple
