Overview

Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is seeking a Full-Time Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Manager to oversee HUD-funded housing programs and agency-owned properties in Honolulu, Oahu. This leadership role is crucial for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational stability within community-based housing services.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage administrative and operational functions of HUD-funded properties
  • Prepare HUD financials, budgets, and required reports
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Ensure adherence to HUD rules, regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate HUD and REAC inspections and respond to findings
  • Maintain accurate financial records, billing procedures, and reporting systems
  • Supervise HUD accounting staff and support departmental operations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Three years of accounting experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with HUD or government-funded housing
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting functions
  • Understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • TB clearance, CPR, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
