Overview

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for a Hybrid Hospitalist/EM role at a Critical Access Hospital in Iowa. The position involves providing care to a small volume of patients in a 25-bed facility, with a schedule that includes 24-hour shifts and 24/7 call coverage while on duty.

Key responsibilities

  • Cover a facility with an average daily census of 4-6 medical patients
  • Provide emergency care and hospitalist services
  • Conduct morning rounds and interdisciplinary rounds
  • Manage overnight admissions and high-acuity cases
  • Perform inpatient and emergency department procedures

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years of autonomous hospitalist experience
  • Vent management
  • Emergent intubations
  • Central lines
  • Inpatient procedures
  • ED procedures
  • Clean malpractice history
  • Experience with Thrive Software and TruBridge
