Overview

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Hospitalist Physician for a rural facility in Maine. The role involves providing 24-hour coverage with responsibilities including solo coverage during the day and being on call overnight with support from a nocturnist.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour solo coverage for a rural hospital
  • Perform emergent intubations, ventilator management, and central line insertions
  • Manage patient care during 12-15 hours of the day shift
  • Be on call for the remainder of the 24-hour shift
  • Utilize sleeping amenities on-site or nearby
  • Collaborate with nocturnist for overnight support

Required skills

  • Board Certified or board eligible
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Experience in vent management and central lines
  • Proficiency in lumbar puncture and paracentesis/thoracentesis
  • Competence in emergent intubations
