Overview

Vituity is seeking a Hospitalist Medical Director in Poughkeepsie, New York, who will have the opportunity to impact patient care in a physician-owned partnership model. This role emphasizes autonomy, local control, and support from a national network of clinicians.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate and champion Vituity's purpose and values.
  • Ensure compliance with Vituity requirements and policies.
  • Monitor healthcare and economic trends impacting the practice.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual practice management plan.
  • Lead the local site's administrative management team.
  • Maintain adherence to Vituity policies and fiduciary obligations.
  • Monitor operational and quality metrics for performance improvement.
  • Assess and improve operational processes and workflows.
  • Develop understanding of yearly budget and financial performance.
  • Optimize patient census and billing practices.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new providers.
  • Evaluate the performance of physicians and staff.
  • Engage in contract negotiations with the Regional Director.
  • Build productive relationships with hospital leadership and staff.

Required skills

  • Licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Five or more years in a leadership role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior clinical skills

  • Interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Technical skills with strong accounting and finance understanding
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals
