Overview

TeamHealth is seeking a part-time Hospitalist Physician to join their post-acute care team in Port Charlotte, Florida. The role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a skilled nursing facility, with a focus on collaboration and comprehensive support during the transition into the medical practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans based on patient needs
  • Monitor progress and coordinate care to optimize outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Educate patients and families on health management and preventive strategies
  • Maintain accurate, timely medical records in compliance with regulations

Required skills

  • Current physician license (State of Florida) and DEA
  • Experience in post-acute, acute, ED, or clinic settings preferred, but not required
  • Strong clinical foundation and knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a positive outlook
