Overview

The Chief Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at UNC Health will have a dual role involving both clinical and administrative responsibilities. This position is designed for a leader in the APP field who will provide strategic direction and support to APPs, facilitate collaboration across UNC Health entities, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish long-term strategy and goals in alignment with organizational leadership
  • Interface with APP clinician leaders to align strategic objectives
  • Represent APP issues at the executive level
  • Work with leadership to implement services and initiatives to improve performance
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction to program leaders
  • Collaborate with leadership on budget creation and oversight
  • Lead and support strategies to reduce utilization and costs while improving care
  • Foster an inclusive workplace that promotes teamwork and conflict resolution
  • Encourage workforce engagement and accountability
  • Act as a catalyst for organizational change and adaptation

Required skills

  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • APP Licensure
  • Seven years of clinical practice with three years in a leadership role
  • Exceptional relationship building and networking skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Results-oriented and self-directed
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
