Overview

As the Hospital Laboratory Director at Memorial Health University Medical Center, you will lead laboratory operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and financial management. This role emphasizes staff development and effective communication while striving for excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct laboratory operations to meet organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure adequate staffing and manage performance through training and feedback
  • Develop staff through coaching and regular evaluations
  • Set and execute departmental strategies for service quality and patient satisfaction
  • Oversee financial operations, monitor resource utilization, and prepare reports
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by accrediting agencies
  • Manage key vendor relationships and supply contracts
  • Implement and communicate departmental policies and procedures

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist
  • 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience
  • Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and quality assurance
