Overview

Fairview Park Hospital is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Director to lead the laboratory operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The position requires extensive experience in laboratory management, as well as a strong commitment to improving patient care and departmental efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Directs operations, programs, and activities to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures adequate and qualified staffing for the department.
  • Develops and coaches staff through regular feedback.
  • Sets and executes department strategies for service, quality, and compliance.
  • Monitors financial operations and resource utilization.
  • Assures compliance with standards set by accrediting agencies.
  • Manages key vendor relationships and supply contracts.
  • Communicates effectively within the department.
  • Delegates responsibilities while ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist required.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
  • Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred.
