Overview

Memorial Satilla Health is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Director to oversee laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. The role emphasizes leadership, financial oversight, and staff development within a supportive healthcare team dedicated to innovation and excellence in service delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Directs laboratory operations to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures adequate staffing through effective hiring and training processes.
  • Develops staff through coaching and performance feedback.
  • Sets and executes departmental strategies for quality and financial performance.
  • Manages laboratory financial operations and resource utilization.
  • Assures compliance with accrediting agency standards.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for laboratory operations.
  • Fosters open communication and encourages staff feedback.
  • Delegates responsibilities appropriately according to regulatory guidelines.

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist
  • 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience
  • Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
