Overview

Fairview Park Hospital is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Director to lead their laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving innovation and quality care. The role emphasizes staff development, financial oversight, and strategic planning to enhance patient satisfaction and departmental efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct laboratory operations to meet organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure adequate staffing through hiring, orientation, and training
  • Develop staff through coaching and regular feedback
  • Set and execute departmental strategies for service quality and compliance
  • Oversee financial operations and prepare Monthly Operating Review reports
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by accrediting agencies
  • Manage vendor relationships and supply contracts
  • Develop a communication plan for departmental updates

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a clinical laboratory
  • Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
