Overview

As the Hospital Laboratory Director at TriStar Horizon Medical Center, you will oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while innovating to improve service quality and financial performance. This role involves staffing, coaching, and strategic planning to enhance patient care and operational efficiency in a busy hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct operations, programs, and activities in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure qualified staffing and provide consistent performance feedback and management
  • Set and execute department strategies for service quality, regulatory compliance, and financial performance
  • Monitor and adjust financial operations to meet service and fiscal goals
  • Oversee compliance with accrediting agency standards and validate policies and procedures
  • Manage vendor relationships and supply contracts
  • Develop and implement a communication plan to keep personnel informed
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately to maintain operational efficiency

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist
  • State License where required
  • 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience
  • Experience in complex laboratory operations
  • Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
