Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions at Vitas Healthcare in Litchfield, IL is a senior leadership role focused on overseeing the Admissions Department. This position involves strategic planning, operational oversight, and development of staff to improve performance and quality in admissions, while also ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Admissions Department's strategy, operations, and workforce.
  • Develop leadership skills in nursing and admissions staff through training and coaching.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve program performance and growth.
  • Create and execute an actionable strategic plan for the Admissions Department.
  • Develop a customer-focused admissions process responding to client needs.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting on admissions performance KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and manage financial performance.
  • Support recruitment, training, and retention initiatives within the department.

Required skills

  • 5+ years nursing experience preferred
  • 3+ years in a leadership/management role preferred
  • Hospice admissions experience preferred
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with technology, including Excel, MS Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, and PowerBI
  • Experience in analyzing data to inform business needs
  • Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program and current RN/NP license
