Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions at Vitas Healthcare is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the Admissions Department, focusing on strategy, customer service, data analysis, and workforce management. This position involves a blend of fieldwork and in-office responsibilities, aiming to improve program performance and quality in hospice admissions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Admissions Department by developing staff leadership skills through training and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with leadership at various organizational levels to enhance program performance and growth.
  • Develop and document an active strategic plan for the Admissions Department.
  • Foster a customer-service oriented approach, addressing customer needs and complaints.
  • Oversee performance metrics and compliance with company standards and audits.
  • Manage staffing, training, recruitment, and retention initiatives effectively.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in admissions processes.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of nursing experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Hospice admissions experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Excel, MS Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, and PowerBI.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to identify business and training needs.
  • Knowledge of industry policies and practices.
