Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions at Vitas Healthcare is a senior leadership role responsible for the leadership, strategy, and operations of the Admissions Department. The position involves developing staff, collaborating with various leadership levels, and implementing initiatives aimed at improving program performance and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop admissions staff through training and coaching
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance program performance and growth
  • Ensure the Admissions Department has an actionable strategic plan
  • Focus on customer service by understanding and responding to client needs
  • Manage admissions performance KPIs and drive process improvement projects
  • Oversee workforce management including recruiting, training, and retention
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and conduct audits
  • Support a collaborative approach to achieve admissions-related goals

Required skills

  • 5+ years of nursing experience preferred
  • 3+ years in a leadership/management role preferred
  • Hospice admissions experience preferred
  • Proficient in technology and adapting to new systems (Excel, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze data to identify business and training needs
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience in developing strategies to improve admissions performance
