Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions at Vitas Healthcare is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the Admissions Department, including strategy development, customer service, and operational results. This position involves leading a team, developing staff skills, and collaborating with various leadership levels to improve program performance and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop admissions staff through training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve program performance and quality
  • Create and document an actionable strategic plan for the Admissions Department
  • Develop a customer-service oriented Admissions Department
  • Review and provide guidance on customer complaints
  • Oversee training, staffing, and recruitment initiatives
  • Manage and analyze workforce performance and retention strategies
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and participate in audits
  • Engage in regular meetings to discuss program performance and initiatives

Required skills

  • 5+ years nursing experience preferred
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role preferred
  • Experience in hospice admissions preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient with technology including Microsoft Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint, and PowerBI
  • Ability to analyze data to identify business and training needs
  • Knowledge of industry policies and practices
  • Ability to motivate and develop others
  • Capability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
