Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions at Vitas Healthcare is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the Admissions Department's leadership, strategy, operations, and customer service. This position involves collaborating with various levels of leadership to improve program performance and ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Admissions staff through training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance program performance and growth
  • Create and maintain an actionable strategic plan for the Admissions Department
  • Ensure customer service-oriented practices by addressing customer needs and complaints
  • Manage performance metrics and KPI targets related to admissions
  • Oversee training, staffing, recruitment, and retention initiatives for the department
  • Ensure compliance with required duties and conduct audits as necessary
  • Analyze data for continuous improvement in admissions processes

Required skills

  • 5+ years nursing experience, with hospice admissions preferred
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in technology including Excel, MS Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, and PowerBI
  • Experience in developing strategies to improve admissions performance
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data to identify operational needs
