Job Description

Overview

As a Homebuilding Construction Assistant Superintendent at San Joaquin Valley Homes, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing residential construction projects. You will work closely with the Lead Superintendent to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and supervising homebuilding projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and labor for compliance with plans and safety standards.
  • Monitor daily activities for quality control and safety compliance.
  • Communicate updates and resolve concerns with homeowners and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports and budgets.
  • Manage material and equipment availability for timely progress.
  • Identify and address potential delays or issues through corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to local building codes and safety policies.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in construction management preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in residential construction
  • Knowledge of residential building codes and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Experience with MS Office and construction management software
  • OSHA 30-hour safety certification preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
