Overview

Endeavor Health is seeking a Histology Technician to join their team at Evanston Hospital. This full-time position requires expertise in processing tissues and performing histological techniques to deliver expert care in a community-connected environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Process tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
  • Perform manual and automated embedding using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
  • Conduct microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks
  • Provide recuts of tissue blocks and special stains
  • Perform cryotomy of skin specimens

Required skills

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's in Laboratory Science
  • Histology routine training or accredited Histology Technology program
  • HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible
  • 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
  • Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy
