Overview

Genesis10 is seeking a Histology Scientist for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Pharmaceutical Company. The role involves preparing high-quality tissue samples for analysis in a research laboratory, including executing tissue processing, embedding, and staining procedures, while collaborating with researchers.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute tissue processing to prepare high-quality samples for analysis
  • Conduct tissue embedding using paraffin and frozen section techniques
  • Perform tissue staining, including immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF)
  • Troubleshoot and optimize protocols for reproducible results
  • Collaborate with researchers to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings
  • Maintain detailed records of procedures, results, and inventory

Required skills

  • PhD or Master's degree in biology or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in tissue processing, staining, and embedding
  • Proficiency in histological techniques, including paraffin and cryosectioning
  • Expertise in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize tissue preparation protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and data analysis skills
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking abilities
  • Clear communication skills for collaboration
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards
