Overview

The High School Special Education Teacher at Urban Dove Team Charter Schools is responsible for implementing a student-paced curriculum tailored to the needs of at-risk students. This role emphasizes collaboration in a co-teaching environment and aims to ensure high student achievement through personalized support and engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-teach five 55-minute classes
  • Collaborate in an Inclusive Co-Teaching environment
  • Apply SDI framework to support students with special needs
  • Manage student behavior using restorative practices
  • Collaborate as a case manager to create individualized learning plans
  • Track and discuss student progress and set goals for growth
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Design and oversee Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Engage in IEP collaboration and grade-level teamwork
  • Regularly review student data through an electronic management system
  • Attend a 3-week summer orientation and professional development
  • Fulfill broader school roles, including mentoring and committee involvement
