Overview

Urban Dove Team Charter School IV is seeking a High School Math Teacher to join their team of dynamic educators. The role involves utilizing data-driven approaches in a student-paced, competency-based curriculum to help over-aged, under-credited youth succeed academically. The teacher will collaborate within an Inclusive Co-Teaching environment and implement strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-teach five 55-minute classes
  • Collaborate in an Inclusive Co-Teaching (ICT) environment
  • Maintain an organized classroom that promotes student learning
  • Plan and implement student-centered instruction
  • Implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) addressing individual student needs
  • Track student progress using various data sources
  • Participate in IEP meetings
  • Manage student behavior using restorative practices
  • Communicate with families and stakeholders to support student success
  • Attend a 3-week summer orientation and professional development series
  • Fulfill broader school roles, including mentoring and committee involvement

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • New York State Certification
  • Experience in a Transfer School preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Applications
  • Knowledge of SESIS
  • Ability to create multi-tiered classroom structures and behavior plans
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work
  • Commitment to using restorative practices and a strength-based approach
  • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
  • Passion for serving at-risk youth
