Overview

Urban Dove Team Charter School IV is seeking a dynamic High School Math Teacher who excels in a collaborative and adaptable environment. The role involves utilizing data-driven, student-centered approaches within a competency-based curriculum, addressing the unique challenges faced by over-aged, under-credited youth while fostering an environment that promotes academic success and independence.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-teach five 55-minute classes
  • Collaborate in an Inclusive Co-Teaching (ICT) environment
  • Maintain an organized classroom that promotes learning and independence
  • Plan and implement student-centered instruction catering to diverse learning styles
  • Implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to meet individual student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and use data to track student progress
  • Manage student behavior using restorative practices
  • Communicate with families to support student success
  • Engage in mentoring and committee involvement

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • New York State Certification
  • Experience in a Transfer School preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Applications
  • Knowledgeable in using SESIS
  • Ability to create multi-tiered classroom structures and behavior plans
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to teamwork and restorative practices
