Overview

The Nashville VA Medical Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center are seeking a part-time Hematology/Oncology Physician to serve as the Transplant Section Chief. This role offers the opportunity to provide care to Veterans within a top academic health environment while focusing on education and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the VA Tennessee Valley Health System's transplant program
  • Deliver high-quality transplant medicine care within their specialty
  • Evaluate and manage patients referred for transplantation
  • Oversee the inpatient transplant consult service
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice trainees
  • Devote approximately 50% of time to clinical activities and 50% to leadership, administration, and education
  • Assist the Chief of Staff and Chief of Medicine with transplant-related operations
  • Supervise attending physicians and section staff
  • Ensure adherence to privacy and information security regulations
  • Promote a culture of integrity, respect, and Veteran-centered care
