General Purpose Works with journeyman and others in the installation and maintenance of plant equipment and other work as assigned. Under the direction of a Journeyman, a Helper may operate hand tools and small power tools necessary to perform unskilled support of the Journeyman if qualified. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Pick up/deliver/fuel vehiclesPick up parts and supplies from local vendorsRun parts and tools to crewsSweeping and general housekeepingStripping and breakdown of scrap and salvage materialFiling of Daily ReportsFill water containers for crewsOther duties as assigned This is an entry level position. Workers needs to adapt to a variety of tasks and work environments. Must be able to follow instructions closely. Requirements RequirementsHigh school diploma or proof of equivalent GED.Prior experience with hand tools and small power tools.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, or greater.Must have a current Driver License Pass a physical exam. Typically uses hand tools such as brooms, shovels, hand carts, maintenance tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, jack hammers, etc. Operates forklifts and pickup trucks. If working outside the Plant worker may stand or walk up to 80% of the day. If assigned inside the Plant may walk 50% of day. Surfaces are variable, uneven ground, paved, grating, concrete or mud. Preferences Prior experience working as a helper with Journeyman Lineman or Field operations is a plus.Knowledge of plant equipment and duties is helpful.
