Overview

The Help Desk Technician role at Chesapeake Containment involves providing first-line technical support to users. This entry-level position focuses on troubleshooting and resolving IT issues while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Respond to user inquiries by phone, email, chat, or in person
  • Troubleshoot common hardware and software problems
  • Maintain hardware inventory and ensure documentation is up-to-date
  • Reset passwords and maintain user accounts as applicable
  • Research solutions to complex issues and escalate unresolved issues to senior technicians
  • Document procedures and solutions using internal systems
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to guide users through problem-solving steps
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times

Required skills

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on user satisfaction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software (a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to obtain CompTIA A+ Certification within a year
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
