Overview

Air Methods is seeking a skilled Rotor Wing Pilot to support air medical transport operations in Johnstown, NY. The role involves ensuring safe flight operations, compliance with regulations, and effective communication with the medical team while offering the opportunity for work-life balance with a 7 days on/7 days off schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure aircraft is airworthy
  • Serve as final authority for aircraft operations and passenger safety
  • Familiarize medical flight teams with aircraft systems
  • Complete required documentation and flight planning
  • Participate in company meetings and community outreach
  • Maintain regular attendance as per company policies

Required skills

  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft
  • ATP rating in category
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate
  • 2,000 total flight hours with 1,500 flight hours in category
  • 1,000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 200 hours cross-country flight time, including night flying
  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations and Air Methods policies
