Overview

As a Rotor Wing Pilot for Air Methods in Sidney, NY, you will play a critical role in providing air medical transport services to communities. This position requires ensuring safety and compliance while operating the aircraft to transport medical crew and patients within an assigned area. The role offers a work-life balance with 7 days on/7 days off shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally.
  • Complete pre-flight inspections to ensure airworthiness.
  • Maintain final authority for aircraft operations and safety.
  • Ensure familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems.
  • Complete required documentation for flights.
  • Conduct detailed flight planning.
  • Participate in meetings and community outreach.

Required skills

  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft
  • ATP rating in category
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate
  • 2000 total flight hours, including at least 1500 flight hours in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC
  • Positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and public
