Overview

Air Methods is looking for exceptional Helicopter Pilots to join their team in Sioux City, Iowa. As leaders in the air medical industry, they are committed to providing safe and reliable air medical transport services 24/7. The role demands adherence to aviation regulations while ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and medical crews during transport.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness before flights
  • Ensure familiarity with aircraft and medical systems
  • Complete required documentation for flights
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
  • Participate in company meetings and community outreach
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain a regular schedule

Required skills

  • 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 flight hours in category
  • 1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in category
  • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine experience
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time, including 50 at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC
  • 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight
  • Commercial single-engine land license required
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate required
