Overview

Air Methods is seeking a Helicopter Pilot to operate air medical aircraft in Sidney, NY, ensuring safe and compliant transport of medical crews and patients. The role includes a commitment to 24/7 service and offers a work-life balance with a 7 on/7 off schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure aircraft is airworthy
  • Maintain final authority for aircraft operations and passenger safety
  • Ensure medical flight team is familiar with aircraft systems
  • Complete required documentation and flight planning
  • Participate in Air Methods meetings and community outreach
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years related flight experience
  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft
  • ATP rating in category
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate
  • 2000 total flight hours with minimum of 1500 hours in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time
