Overview

Air Methods is looking for a skilled Rotor Wing Pilot for their air medical operations in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The role involves transporting medical crews and patients safely and legally while adhering to aviation regulations and company policies in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe manner
  • Complete pre-flight checks to ensure aircraft is airworthy
  • Ensure safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
  • Familiarize with aircraft and medical systems
  • Complete required documentation
  • Conduct detailed flight planning
  • Participate in company meetings and community outreach

Required skills

  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft
  • ATP rating in category
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate
  • VFR flying experience with a minimum of 2000 total flight hours
  • 1500 flight hours in category, 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC
  • Positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and EMS representatives
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Methods policies
