Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for its Maryland Division, who will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to achieve production goals while adhering to safety protocols. The company emphasizes a commitment to safety and the health of its employees.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, and loaders
  • Perform daily checks and maintenance on equipment
  • Ensure equipment is safely parked and stored
  • Notify shop foreman of maintenance or repair needs
  • Clean equipment as scheduled
  • Follow detailed written or oral instructions

Required skills

  • One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school or six months of related experience
  • Practical skills in operating heavy equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
