Job Description

Overview

As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic at Sea Box, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of the manufacturing facility by conducting proactive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repairs on a fleet of mobile and heavy equipment, including forklifts, trucks, and industrial cranes. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be tasked with minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment adheres to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts, cranes, and transport trucks
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components
  • Inspect and repair components specific to overhead and mobile industrial cranes
  • Accurately log maintenance activities and parts usage
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace according to safety regulations
  • Identify and report safety hazards to prevent accidents
  • Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Collaborate with shop personnel to maintain building and equipment items
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Experience with heavy-duty trucks, forklifts, or cranes maintenance and repair
  • Proficiency in diesel/gas engines and mobile equipment electrical systems
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and multimeters
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
  • Ability to lift production objects of up to 50lbs
