Overview

Join McLane Company, Inc. as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic and contribute to a team dedicated to operational excellence. You will perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical repairs on trailers and refrigeration units, ensuring they maintain peak performance. This role offers opportunities for skill development and collaboration among a diverse group of professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration units
  • Diagnose, remove, repair, replace or rebuild clutches, water pumps, tires, tractor suspensions, body repairs, rear differentials, drive lines, transmissions, wheel seals, and brake systems
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot cooling systems
  • Read, understand, and utilize service bulletins and technical manuals
  • Maintain shop tools and complete necessary paperwork and computer input
  • Comply with company work and safety rules and attendance policy
  • Participate in on-call rotation and make road calls as necessary

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Trade school graduate in heavy duty diesel repairs and/or refrigeration classes
  • ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) within one year of hire
  • Preferred Class A license
  • Certifications in International Maxx Force 13 Engines, Transportation Refrigeration, Brake Systems, Tractor A/C Refriger
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related tasks
