Overview

Johnson Equipment Sales & Service is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Road Service Technician to join their Farmington, NY team. This full-time role involves diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs on heavy diesel equipment while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized tools and equipment
  • Perform brake, tire, heater, and defroster repairs
  • Road-test equipment to verify repairs
  • Deliver efficient, high-quality repairs that meet time standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to drivers and the Repair Coordinator
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience working on 48'/53' equipment
  • Component training or trailer tech certifications preferred
  • Own basic tool set
  • Valid Class A license with at least 6 months of experience
  • Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field
