Overview

J&J Enterprises Services Inc. is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator with expertise in dirt work, grading, concrete, and asphalt paving. The role involves estimating costs, reading civil plans, and fostering relationships with clients to turn opportunities into awarded work.

Key responsibilities

  • Review civil plans and bid documents
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Build estimates using Dirt Works software and Excel
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings
  • Develop relationships with general contractors, developers, and municipalities
  • Coordinate handoff of awarded work to operations or project teams

Required skills

  • Strong estimating experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proficiency in Dirt Works estimating software and Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Strong communication skills and customer-facing professionalism
  • Experience with dirt work, grading, concrete, and asphalt paving
