Job Description

Overview

The Head Preschool Teacher at North Bay Children is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations of the preschool classroom in accordance with the organization's philosophies and educational objectives. This role requires leadership in maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment for children and collaboration with staff and parents.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and implement diverse, age-appropriate activities.
  • Maintain supervision of children at all times according to licensing regulations.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluations of children.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and Site Supervisor to support implementation of behavior intervention plans.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents through effective communication.
  • Attend scheduled staff development days, meetings, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with Community Care Licensing and California Department of Education requirements.

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs.
  • 32 ECE units plus 16 General Education units.
  • CTC Master Teacher Permit.
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong knowledge of community care licensing and best practices.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and fulfill physical job requirements.
