Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary The Head of School / Principal provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school's academic, operational, and compliance functions. This role oversees curriculum implementation, staff supervision, student support services, family engagement, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining alignment with the mission and philosophy of El Paso Bridges Academy. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, experience working with students with learning differences, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a structured, supportive learning environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Instructional Leadership • Lead curriculum implementation and instructional quality • Observe, evaluate, and coach teachers • Monitor student progress and outcomes • Ensure alignment with educational standards and school philosophy • Lead professional development initiatives Student Life, Culture, & Discipline • Establish and uphold a positive school culture • Serve as final authority on student discipline • Ensure student safety and well-being • Lead crisis response and emergency protocols Financial & Enrollment Stewardship (Shared Responsibility) • Manage campus-level budgets within board-approved limits • Approve purchases and expenditures • Support enrollment growth and retention • Assist with fundraising and donor engagement as assigned • Write Grants for school and monitor adherence to grant purpose School Operations & Administration • Oversee daily school operations • Ensure compliance with state regulations and accreditation requirements • Supervise student records and reporting • Coordinate safety procedures and facilities oversight Staff Supervision & Development • Hire, onboard, evaluate, and support faculty and staff • Set schedules and assignments • Address performance concerns and improvement plans • Promote staff morale and retention Family & Community Engagement • Serve as primary liaison to families • Lead parent communication and conflict resolution • Represent the school at community events Governance & Authority • Implements board-approved policies • Provides regular reports to the Board Qualifications Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred • Prior teaching and school leadership experience • Strong instructional leadership and organizational skills • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities • Commitment to nonprofit mission and student-centered education • Previous experience managing staff • Previous experience in fundraising and grant writing
