Overview

Marie Curie UK is seeking a Head of Communications to lead the external communications strategy and enhance the organization's position as an expert in end-of-life care. This role will involve developing and managing communication plans that resonate with various stakeholders, while championing the values of the charity.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage external communications in line with organizational strategy
  • Collaborate across directorates to ensure aligned messaging
  • Lead crisis communications with response plans and key messages
  • Guide and develop the communications team
  • Create and deliver organization-wide communication plans supporting business objectives
  • Manage and lead major communication campaigns and change communications
  • Align and manage campaigns, projects, and products to organizational objectives

Required skills

  • Experience in a similar leadership role and managing communication strategies
  • Strong track record in leading major communication campaigns
  • Experience in complex organizations and aligning different departments
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong project management skills
