Overview

Target Hospitality is seeking a Head Chef in West, Texas, responsible for managing kitchen operations and ensuring high-quality food service. The role involves supervising kitchen staff, adhering to safety and food standards, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a safety culture following all SOPs and policies
  • Coordinate meal preparation and timely service
  • Ensure adequate quantities of menu items are prepared
  • Follow HACCP and FIFO guidelines for food storage and safety
  • Update menu boards every meal period
  • Operate various kitchen equipment
  • Provide culinary guidance and leadership to the team
  • Meet with the Chef daily to discuss production strategies
  • Manage inventory and recommend ordering
  • Define work schedules for the kitchen staff
  • Run daily safety meetings
  • Exceed guest needs with high customer service
  • Attend all safety meetings and participate in emergency procedures

Required skills

  • 3+ years of culinary experience, preferably in a remote camp or hotel/hospitality
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Valid food safe certification
  • First aid certification
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to travel and work long rotations
  • Pass background check and urine analysis
